Ordinance Number 2001-03, adopted February 6, 2001, established the Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals. The Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals is comprised of members with knowledge and experience in the technical and fire safety codes, such as design professionals, contractors from each of the respective trades, or building industry representatives. The Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals hears appeals of decisions and interpretations of the Building Official and considers variances of the technical code. The Board has the power to resolve conflicts between the Florida Building Code, and the City’s adopted Fire Safety Code, when those conflicts cannot be resolved by agreement between the Building Official and the Fire Marshal.
